Adjustment &Regulation Job Wound up at COB-7 of EVRAZ ZSMK

In late December 2022, we have successfully completed a 6-months long job of repeated adjustment and tuning up of the heating mode for the operating coke oven battery No.7 at EVRAZ ZSMK in Novokuznetsk. 

During this period, the OKOS team of specialists carried out the following activities: 

• Measuring temperatures in the HW vertical flues and along the coke cake central line using thermocouples; 
• The preset temperature values were reduced with adjustment of the process mode for various coking times; 
• Volume of coal charging into coking chambers was increased, while improving the charging uniformity; 
• Sole ducts and regenerators were cleared of debris. Gas burners were decarbonised; 
• Gas guns of all vertical flues were grouted by gunniting; 
• Free flow operation of clogged and partially fouled verticals (the end and pre-end flues) has been restored; 
• Adjustment of the waste heat boxes was done to restore the design stroke values of smoke disc rods and air flaps; 
• Cleaning of the cellar gas-supply fittings for all heating walls was carried out; 
• Load values on the main spring units and auxiliary anchorage units of COBS were restored; the bracing elements have been adjusted. 
• Temperature distribution was regulated along the battery and along the heating walls by re- arranging the gas regulating cylinders and washers. 
• The hydraulic mode of the battery has been adjusted.
