Repairs of EVRAZ NTMK coke oven battery No.10

In mid-March 2023, OKOS team taken up a repair work on coke oven battery No.10 at Coke plant facility of EVRAZ NTMK in the city of Nizhny Tagil.

• repairing the cross tie-rods and re-setting proper load values on the spring units;
• removing / re-installing the oven door frames, and repacking them;
• mending the heating walls damaged refractories by ceramic welding;
• moving flashplates upwards to proper position, including repairs and rebricking of the lower and upper lintels;
• repairing the regenerators;
• adjusting the ovens thermal and hydraulic modes at the OKOS repairs sections.

Background of the COB:
Battery No.10 is of GIPROKOKS design, with twin vertical flues, waste heat recirculation and underfiring using CO gas; coking chamber volume is 41.3 m3. COB annual output capacity 970 thousand tons of coke (gross). The battery consists of 71 Nos. 7m high ovens. The battery was commissioned in 1989.
