New overhaul job at the EVRAZ ZSMK facility

On April 18, 2024 OKOS has signed an agreement with EVRAZ ZSMK to perform overhaul of two coke oven batteries, COB No.6 and COB No.7 at ZSMK Coke Plant, as follows: 

* Battery No.6 – rebuilding of 10 end-flue portions of heating walls 4 flues deep; 
* Battery No.7 – rebuilding of 6 end-flue portions of heating walls 4 flues deep and a through-wall rebricking 2 heating walls.

Background of the COBs:

Battery No.6 is of GIPROKOKS design, with twin vertical flues, waste heat recirculation and underfiring type using CO gas; volume of a coking chamber is 32.4 m3. COB annual output capacity 730 thousand tons of coke (gross). The battery consists of 65 Nos. 5.5m high ovens. It was commissioned in 1971.

Battery No.7 is of GIPROKOKS design, with twin vertical flues, waste heat recirculation and underfiring type using CO gas; volume of a coking chamber is 41.3 m3. COB annual output capacity 930 thousand tons of coke (gross). The battery consists of 65 Nos. 7m high ovens. It was commissioned in 1989.
