By-product coking industry – is one of the most important sub-sectors of iron-and-steel industry. Coal is processed at coke plants for cokemaking, production of coke oven gas and chemical products. 

Modern coking plant – is a complex thermotechnical unit. More than 90% of the total mass of coke oven battery’s brickwork consists of refractory materials that are not destructed by many years of work at high temperatures. This includes silica, fire-clay and semiacid refractory products, as well as mortars, which serve to bind the product together in the brickwork. Coke oven battery is equipped with a variety of process equipment, piping and machinery. Structurally, coke oven battery combines from 45 to 77 coke ovens operating in set thermo-hydraulic modes. Compliance with the rules of technical operation of coke enterprises is the key to producing good quality coke and preservation of ovens brickwork.
